Inspection FAQ

Q: Can I come to the home inspection too?
A: Absolutely, in fact we highly encourage you to attend! We want to show you everything there is to know about your new home! By the end of the home inspection, you’ll know that home inside and out!

Q: When will I receive my report?
A: You will receive a summary report within minutes of the completed inspection. The summary report is a computer generated report that is based off of the entire report.  This report is not the entire report. The complete report may include additional information of concern.  It is recommended that you read the entire report.  The summary report is based on the major issues found throughout the inspection.   You will receive the entire report no later than 9:00 am the next morning.  Most likely you will receive the entire report just hours after the inspection.

Q: How long will the inspection take?
A: Most of our inspections take three to four hours depending on size, age, and condition of the home.

Q: Can a home fail the inspection?
A: Absolutely not! The inspection process isn’t on a pass/fail basis. The inspection process is more to let you know the condition of the home and to bring attention to potential areas of concern.

Q: Why can't I have someone in my family who is very handy or a contractor, inspect my new home?
A: This is the biggest mistake many potential new homeowners make when purchasing a home. Although the person you are considering may be very skilled, they are not trained or experienced at professional home inspections.   Many contractors, and other trades professionals hire a professional home inspector to inspect their homes when they make a purchase.  There is no substitute for a professional inspection.

Q: What if the report reveals problems?
A: Talk to your realtor. If there are problems found by the inspector it does not necessarily mean you should not buy the property. The home inspection is a tool for you to know in advance what kind of repairs to anticipate. Most of the time problems found by the inspector are typical for the age of the property.

Q: What if I have questions after the inspection?
A: We are happy to assist you anytime with your questions. There are no expiration dates for our services.
